Responsibilities: Consult with clients to understand their desired braiding style, hair type, and any special needs or preferences. Perform hair braiding services such as box braids, cornrows, twists, and other styles. Maintain a clean and sanitized workstation and ensure all equipment is properly disinfected. Provide hair care advice to clients on how to care for braided styles and maintain healthy hair.

Responsibilities

Expertise in braiding techniques (box braids, cornrows, twists, etc.) Creativity to customize styles based on client preferences. Good communication skills for client consultation and understanding needs. Attention to detail to ensure neat, well-formed braids. Strong manual dexterity for precise braiding and handling of small sections of hair. Patience as braiding can be a time-consuming process. Customer service skills to provide a pleasant experience and ensure client satisfaction. Knowledge of hair care and product recommendations. Time management to complete braiding efficiently while maintaining quality.

Requirements & Skills

High school diploma or equivalent (some positions may require further education or training). Certification or training in cosmetology or specifically in braiding (may be required or preferred depending on the salon). Proven experience in braiding, with a portfolio showcasing previous work (this can help demonstrate skill level). State license (if required by the state or region you’re working in). Ability to work with different hair textures and types, including natural, relaxed, and textured hair.
